Seven Indian-Origin Men Arrested In Toronto Following Kidnapping Investigation

Police in Peel Region have arrested and charged seven Indian-origin men, many most likely students from India, with various offences following a kidnapping investigation that resulted in a handgun being seized. Danish Thakur, of Brampton, is charged with kidnapping, robbery, possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, discharging a firearm, and assault with a weapon. Daljeet Singh and Harmanpreet Singh, both of Brampton, is charged with kidnapping and robbery. Snowerpreet Khehra, of Georgetown, is charged with kidnapping, robbery, and possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized. Komalpreet Singh, Saheyad Kang, Arundeep Singh, and Maninderjit Singh, 26, all of Georgetown, are each charged with one count of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized.

TORONTO - Police in Peel Region have arrested and charged seven Indian-origin men, many most likely students from India, with various offences following a kidnapping investigation that resulted in a handgun being seized.
Cops allege that two victims entered a home in Brampton on Feb. 15 around 9:30 p.m. and were held against their will, kidnapped and later released.
Following an investigation, police executed search warrants Thursday morning around 6 a.m. at two residences in Brampton and one in Georgetown.
Cops seized several items, including a 9 mm compact handgun, ammunition, vehicles and other property.
Danish Thakur, 24, of Brampton, is charged with kidnapping, robbery, possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, discharging a firearm, and assault with a weapon.
Daljeet Singh, 28, and Harmanpreet Singh, 22, both of Brampton, is charged with kidnapping and robbery.
Snowerpreet Khehra, 25, of Georgetown, is charged with kidnapping, robbery, and possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized.
Komalpreet Singh, 22, Saheyad Kang, 21, Arundeep Singh, 24, and Maninderjit Singh, 26, all of Georgetown, are each charged with one count of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized.
