Powerlifter Sumeet Sharma Raises Funds For Lapu Lapu Tragedy Victims

Powerlifter Sumeet Sharma, a member of team Canada of the powerlifting team, is raising funds for victims of the Lapu Lapu festival in Vancouver. “My sponsors and I will be teaming up and setting up Donation boxes at Supplement King locations in the Surrey area,”Sharma told DESIBUZZCanada. The money will be going to the families affected from the Lapu Lapu event that occurred. VANCOUVER – Powerlifter Sumeet Sharma, a member of team Canada of the powerlifting team, is raising funds for victims of the Lapu Lapu festival in Vancouver.
“My sponsors and I will be teaming up and setting up Donation boxes at Supplement King locations in the Surrey area,”Sharma told DESIBUZZCanada. The money will be going to the families affected from the Lapu Lapu event that occurred.

Sharma said he has been competing in powerlifting since 2016 and in that time he has accumulated an impressive resume.
“In addition to my latest win, I won gold in both 2017 and 2018 at the Western Powerlifting Championships. I also placed 4th in powerlifting in the country in 2018,” Sharma said.
From these successes he was chosen to represent Canada at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship in Newfoundland in 2019 where he walked away with silver in Bench Press. He has also won gold for Canada in powerlifting in 2022 in Costa Rica.
“Since Covid-19, my sponsor Supplementking and I have decided to give food supplies to health care workers for all the hard work that they have been doing, our goal was to go to all of the hospitals in the lower mainland . We accomplished that goal,” he said
“We have also teamed up with Canada Ukraine Foundation to raise money for the people of Ukraine in the past. We set up Donation boxes at Supplementing locations in Surrey to raise money for the people of Ukraine.”
