Police across Canada are looking to capture a 19-year-old Edmonton man wanted in the killing of a South Asian man in Toronto. On Wednesday, alongside York Regional Police, Detective Sergeant Sandra Arruda of the Toronto Police Homicide and Missing Persons Unit provided an update on the homicide of Chandan Kumar Raja Nandakumar, 37, who was shot and killed on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Isaiah Thomas Badger, 19, of Edmonton, is wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for in relation to Nandakumar’s murder.

TORONTO – Police across Canada are looking to capture a 19-year-old Edmonton man wanted in the killing of a South Asian man in Toronto.

On Wednesday, alongside York Regional Police, Detective Sergeant Sandra Arruda of the Toronto Police Homicide and Missing Persons Unit provided an update on the homicide of Chandan Kumar Raja Nandakumar, 37, who was shot and killed on Saturday, February 7, 2026. 

Isaiah Thomas Badger, 19, of Edmonton, is wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for in relation to Nandakumar’s murder.

On Saturday, February 7 at approximately 3:26 p.m., police responded to a call for a Shooting in the parking lot of Woodbine Shopping Centre in the Rexdale Boulevard and Highway 27 area.

It is alleged that officers arrived on scene and located a male victim with gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at hospital

This is Toronto's 3rd Homicide of 2026.

Isaiah Thomas Badger is wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for first Degree Murder
