An Indo-Canadian man has been arrested after a knife attack in downtown Vancouver.  Delta resident Paramveer Singh Jhooti, 31, was arrested by Vancouver Police and charged with aggravated assault for allegedly slashing another man’s face with a knife at a Yaletown night-club Sunday night.

VANCOUVER– An Indo-Canadian man has been arrested after a knife attack in downtown Vancouver.

 Delta resident Paramveer Singh Jhooti, 31, was arrested by Vancouver Police and charged with aggravated assault for allegedly slashing another man’s face with a knife at a Yaletown night-club Sunday night.

Vancouver Police responded just before 3 a.m. today to reports of an assault inside a night-club near Nelson Street and Hamilton Street. Witnesses intervened and rendered first aid to the victim, prior to police arrival.

Vancouver Police arrested Jhooti outside the night-club.

The victim received treatment in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police do not believe the incident was random. 

Jhooti, who remains in police custody, has now been charged with one count of aggravated assault.
