OBITUARY: Sikh Community Pioneer Bikar Singh Dhillon Passes Away

The Vancouver-based Sikh leader Bikar Singh Dhillon was born October 17, 1924 in Village Pandori, Ladha Singh Dist. Hoshiarpur. Dhillon came to Canada at the age of 34 in 1958 where he worked hard at the local Sawmill, caring for his wife and family.
VANCOUVER - Well known Indo-Canadian community pioneer Sardar Bikar Singh Dhillon passed away peacefully on Thursday February 18 2021, at the age of 96.
The Vancouver-based Sikh leader was born October 17, 1924 in Village Pandori, Ladha Singh Dist. Hoshiarpur. Dhillon came to Canada at the age of 34 in 1958 where he worked hard at the local Sawmill, caring for his wife and family.
He soon became involved & dedicated to the Sikh Community, where he was a Highly Respected member of the Community. With his strong and caring personality, he became a true Leader.
He was elected three times as the President of Khalsa Diwan Society, Ross Street Vancouver. His hobbies included charity work and weight lifting, both which filled his home with awards, medals and trophies of his hard work.
Bikar leaves behind his four Children, Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, extended Family and Friends who admired and respected him.
May Waheguru bless this Strong Sewadar who did so much for his Family and the Sikh Community. His loss will be felt everywhere.
