While the federal election is still more than a year away, the New Democrats in Vancouver South nominated Manoj Bhangu as their NDP candidate. “I’m excited to have Manoj joining the NDP team. He knows the community well, and brings a great deal of experience working with people locally,” said NDP leader Jagmeet Singh. “Now more than ever, people in Vancouver South need someone who will fight for them. With the cost of living soaring out of control and housing at an all-time high, people want to see their government tackling corporate greed and bringing down costs.”

VANCOUVER – While the federal election is still more than a year away, the New Democrats in Vancouver South nominated Manoj Bhangu as their NDP candidate.

“While Justin Trudeau is out-of-touch and refuses to stand up to the CEOs driving up costs, and Pierre Poilievre is working for rich developers and corporate bosses, New Democrats, like Manoj, are fighting for you.”

Manoj and his family have lived in Vancouver South for many years. He has significant experience working with people in Vancouver South both as a volunteer with the Adopt a Block Program and running a small business. He has also been elected six times to serve on the Board of Directors for Black Top Cabs.

“I know firsthand how hard a time working people and small businesses are having right now,” said Bhangu. “People are struggling to keep up with Vancouver rents, let alone thinking about buying a house. Small businesses are struggling. People want to see costs come down, and New Democrats are the ones delivering. The NDP got dental care for kids, seniors and people living with disabilities, saving families in our community thousands of dollars, and they pushed to get the GST rebate twice when times were tough. I’m looking forward to fighting for better lives for everyone in Vancouver South in Parliament."
