A meet and greet with new Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez was held at the Fleetwood library in Surrey. The Minister in charge of various arts and film funding organizations like Canada Council for the Arts and CMF-Telefilm Canada as well as funding for Periodicals is making his rounds in the Western Canada this week to hear from Canadians on an important part of our shared cultural heritage. And from an ethnic and diverse communities' point of view – Canada has to back up the talk on diversity with setting up proper film-TV funding for ethnic artists and filmmakers. To this end – DESIBUZZCanada founder-editor and well known film writer-director-producer R. Paul Dhillon proposed to the Minister a special Diversity Film Fund to kick start more stories from the diverse communities getting on the big and small screen. Hopefully the Minister will take action on this very important proposal for the Multicultural communities!
